In 2009 Dafna Michaelson was the JourneyWoman who traveled to one state per week for 52 weeks interviewing people who were helping to solve community problems or otherwise working to build community. The stories of the people she met were chronicled on her website in video and blog and served to inspire many thousands who followed her weekly travels.

By the end of 2009 Michaelson had visited every state and interviewed over 500 individuals who are making a difference in their communities. The people she met ranged in age from 14-91, a wide range of religions, races and socio-economic backgrounds, and all of America.

A seasoned speaker, Michaelson is able to tailor her presentation to inspire any audience and bring them to the understanding that the power for making America great rests within each of us.

Keynote Addresses

Journey Stories: How the 50 in 52 Journey began and a series of stories of American’s making a difference in communities small and large around America

Leadership: The people interviewed as part of the Journey were ordinary people doing extraordinary things for others. In this address Michaelson looks at the common principles of leadership inherent in the people she interviewed. Characteristics that propelled people who otherwise had never done anything like the community changing work they are now doing. Characteristics that can be found in each and every one of us.

Custom: Due to the broad nature of the Journey, Michaelson is able to develop custom addresses to meet the needs of your organization.

Workshops

Developed to specifically meet the needs of your conference/meetings. Michaelson has conducted workshops on leadership, self-empowerment, community building, and idea development. Her workshops can also be modified for teen audiences.
